Video verification requires careful planning. Cameras need useful coverage of entry points, storage areas, gates and other alarmed zones. Low-light performance, camera placement, bandwidth and privacy obligations all need consideration. A camera installed too high, facing glare or covering only a wide open area may not provide the detail needed to verify an event.
It is particularly valuable at sites where false alarms are disruptive or expensive, and at locations where keyholders should not be asked to investigate alone.
